Disturbed Shares Video for Haunting “The Sound of Silence” Cover

Disturbed’s video for “The Sound of Silence,” their powerful version of the Simon & Garfunkel classic, has premiered today via Yahoo! who calls it “incredible” and “striking.” The track is taken from the band’s critically acclaimed #1 album Immortalized, which has already boasted two huge hits with the #1 smash “The Vengeful One” and current single “The Light,” which just took the #1 spot at Rock Radio.

Immortalized marked the end of a 4-year hiatus for the Grammy-nominated hard rock titans and debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200, marking the band’s fifth consecutive #1 album – a rare distinction only achieved by one other hard rock band in the history of the chart: Metallica – and putting them in the company of a select group of global superstars to have earned five chart-topping debuts, including Madonna, Beyoncé, Eminem, Dave Matthews Band and U2.

Disturbed will hit the road early next year for their first, full tour since the hiatus, kicking off with a home-state show on January 14 in Springfield, Illinois. The U.S. portion of the headline tour will offer a rare chance to see their arena-ready show in an up close and personal setting, such as The Fillmore in San Francisco, Irving Plaza in New York City, Roseland Theater in Portland, and more. The tour is almost completely sold out, with the few remaining tickets available here.

The band recently announced international touring plans for 2016, starting in January headlining Australia’s biggest rock event of the year at The Soundwave Festival, as well as a headline show in Auckland, New Zealand, before heading to Canada for the month of February. Summer touring plans already include confirmed slots at 98ROCKFEST and Rock On The Range in the U.S., as well as some of Europe’s biggest rock festivals, including Rock am Ring and Rock im Park in Germany, the U.K.’s Download Festival, Hellfest in France, Forta Rock in The Netherlands, Nova Rock in Austria, and Belgium’s Graspop, with more worldwide tour dates to be announced soon. Formed in Chicago in 1996, the multi-platinum Disturbed – David Draiman [vocals], Dan Donegan [guitar], Mike Wengren [drums], and John Moyer [bass] – have sold over 15 million albums globally and scored ten No. 1 singles at Active Rock Radio. Their quadruple-platinum 2000 debut The Sickness formally announced their arrival as hard rock leaders, with that status solidified by their subsequent Grammy Award nomination as well as gold-, platinum- and double platinum-certified records.
